My attention has been drawn to an article released in Ogun State by one Oladimeji Uthman, a self acclaimed Deputy Coordinator of National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in Southwest.
The impersonator in his watery article accused the duly elected National President of National Association of Ogun State Students of deviating from pure activism into partisan politics without considering the effects of the state’s fund mismanagement on economy and education in Ogun state.

No right thinking individual will see a call for accountability of any administration by a pressure group as an attempt to gain relevance in government.
As the Deputy Coordinator of National Association of Nigerian Students in Southwest, I’m using this medium to urge the good people of Ogun State to disregard his publication because we all know the said Uthman is not an indigene of this state. So, he care less about the damages the previous administration of Senator Ibikunle Amosun has caused the state.
For record purpose the 23% of the state’s 2018 budget that was allocated to education was diverted to road infrastructure without minding the negative effects on education and the said Uthman see no reasons to probe the administration of his major means of livelihood.
In his quest to paint the NAOSS president black before the public, he said NAOSS has refused to address pressing issues. Should we call that ignorance or pure hatred because recently, we all watch the viral video of the Association’s walk against rape, we read many publications on this pandemic with positions of the Association and we read about the recent meeting of the Association with Nigerian Custom Service in Ogun State on how to curb killings of Nigerian Students.
What more can a leader do to show his dedication and proactiveness for an Association?
I’m using this medium to urge the Governor of Ogun State, Prince (Dr) Dapo Abiodun to please ignore the noise maker seeking for attention by all means and focus more reviving the dilapidated education sector in the state.
Lastly, I must commend the Governor for taking his time in appointing Com. Adeyemi Azeez Amoo as his Special Assistant on Students matters. The SA is such an infallible asset any Governor will ever pray for. Feedback from the real students constituency has proven that the SA is round peg in a round hole.
